Faculty Biographies

Nancy Campbell - Preschool Director

Nancy comes to Pottersville Preschool with extensive experience in Early Childhood Education.  She holds a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  Nancy is the founding director of a well established preschool located in Liberty Corner, N. J.  Nancy has been identified by the Somerset Alliance for the Future, and Christine Todd Whitman as an outstanding child care professional.  Her former preschool, under her direction, achieved national accreditation from the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs (NAEYC).  Nancy believes in creating a preschool environment that promotes child curiosity, creativity and positive self esteem. She is also a certified handler for pet therapy, and a nationally trained Stephen Minister- who assists people that are going through a personal crisis. Married with three girls, Nancy enjoys spending time with her family, hiking in the great outdoors, skiing, ice-skating and painting landscapes.


Susy Forsythe– Spanish Teacher and Teacher of the 4s

Susy has her BA in Early Childhood Education, and has taught both pre-k and kindergarten for over 15 years. She is very knowledgeable in the areas of lesson planning, classroom management, assessment strategies, and child development.  Susy enjoys a diverse and rich background steeped in the traditions and customs of her homeland, Peru.  She hopes to provide learning opportunities that will support each child’s intellectual, personal, and social development. Susy believes that every child is unique; each with their own specific needs and different learning styles. She tailors her lessons to the children’s interests as well as demonstrates direct connections between the curriculum and the children’s daily experiences. Susy enjoys spending time with her husband, Bill, dog Loki, family and friends.  She enjoys knitting, loves music, dogs, and the beach.


Lynne Weber- Teacher of the 2s/3s class

Lynne has had fifteen years of experience working with children.  She is certified in Early Childhood Education, and enjoys preschool age children for various reasons. She particularly enjoys how the children are often excited to learn and are ready to contribute ideas while still having innocence about them in the way they view the world. Lynne is upbeat and positive. She is very organized and informative. Lynne strives to create an environment that is comfortable, safe and fun; allowing the children to feel confident and ready to move through their world.

Lynne lives in Hillsborough, NJ with her husband Pat and two daughters Cassidy and Brianna. Lynne enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.  She enjoys spending time at the beach, doing arts and crafts with her children, photography, and making scrapbooks.


Denise Costello - Assistant Teacher for the 4s

Denise is beginning her second year as part of the Pottersville Preschool family.  She loves working with the children, teachers and parents to provide a welcoming and loving environment.   She is a graduate of Spectrum Institute for the Advertising Arts.  Before leaving professional life to raise her children, Denise owned and operated a successful freelance graphic design business for 8 yrs.  Among her clients were Dow Jones, The Wall St. Journal, Pharmacia, The Princeton Packet and several small businesses.  Denise is married with three children and lives in Branchburg, NJ.  She is an avid reader who enjoys spending time with her family.  Today she teaches religious formation classes at her church and is a regular volunteer in connection with her children’s schools as well as their many outside recreational activities.


Gabrielle De Vita –  Assistant for the 2/3s class

Gabrielle is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Art’s degree.  Gabby is a very creative and artistic person, who is looking forward to working with young children. She loves artistic expression, and will no doubt be assisting the children with many creative expressions of art on the preschool level!  She has spent the last ten years raising her daughter while freelancing from home. Gabby has worked within the Home Furnishing Design Industry for the last twenty years, creating original art for Upholstery, Wall coverings, Bedding and Tabletop Markets. Her varied background in Arts and Crafts will be an asset when working with children.  She knows how important it is to appreciate art even at a young age. Gabrielle is married, residing in Chester NJ with her husband, daughter and family cat, Leo!  She enjoys outdoor activities with her family, reading, painting botanical watercolors, designing jewelry.  She also volunteers as a Girl Scout Co-Leader.


Marcia Carlen – Music Teacher

Marcia provides our children with an enriching music program on Thursdays and Fridays. Taking piano lessons at an early age, Marcia has always had a love of music.  Her recent musical activities include co-founding a junior choir, playing piano in a praise group and leading the children’s music program at the Pottersville Reformed Church.  Marcia believes that everyone can enjoy and benefit from music, regardless of their degree of involvement.  Mrs. Carlen’s music program will provide the children with song, movement, and a variety of musical instruments for the children to enjoy.  She will introduce the children to many of the traditional preschool “nursery songs” in addition to multicultural, classical, and contemporary children’s music.  An effort will be made to relate the music of the week with the weekly theme that Mrs. Campbell, Forsythe and Petrulla will be presenting in the classrooms.


Dr. Agathis, MD – Medical Advisor

Dr. Agathis has agreed to be our preschool medical advisor.  She has offered to attend one of our Parent/Director meetings, in addition to being available to the staff regarding information relating to general heath and developmental delay issues.  Allison has been a board certified pediatrician in private practice for 21 years. She received her B.A. with highest honors from Rutgers College, and an M.D. from UMDNJ:New Jersey Medical School as a George F. Smith Merit Scholar. She has a practice in Bedminster where she provides personal, comprehensive, pediatric and adolescent care combined with state of the art diagnostics and an in office laboratory.  She also holds positions as:  Vice

Chairman of the Board of Health of Bedminster/ YMCA Medical Advisory Committee/ Platinum Minds Advisory Board/ and NJ American Academy of Pediatrics State School Health Committee.  Dr. Agathis is the School Physician for the Somerset Hills School District, Far Hills Country Day School, and Kent Place School. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her six children ages 24 to 10, her husband and her 2 German Shepherds.
